The TGW group of companies' commitment to the principles of sustainability is manifested in several ways:
As a company that deals in land development we understand our responsibilities. We have made it our goal to minimize our influence and the influence of our suppliers on the environment as much as possible. We aspire to use environmentally friendly materials. We use recycled materials whenever possible under the limitations of the quality standards of local regulations, which we are obligated to uphold, and we aspire to work only with suppliers that are committed to environmentally appropriate behavior. The company has an energy conservation policy with regards to greenhouse gas emissions and we’re committed to reducing the use of company vehicles as much as possible.
All company employees go through trainings, and each project manager must present a plan to reduce negative influences on the environment during the work on their project – to which he commits and on which he is measured.
We believe that a leading company must create the reality of the future. Shtang Construction and Engineering is the only infrastructure company that was a founding member of the Israel Green Building Council, http://www.ilgbc.org, and we are currently members of the managing committee of the organization, which is currently leading the development of the green construction field in Israel. The Israeli council is the local branch of the world council, http://www.worldgbc.org, which is the world leader in green construction. Our representatives have made substantial contributions to the development and design of the vision and goals of the organization, and took part in developing the Israeli green construction rating tool, developing green building training and courses, and promoting green construction regulation and legislation.
Commitment to Safety and Quality
We believe that safety is above all else and we are constantly working to incorporate this way of thinking as part of our managerial culture. Our employees regularly take part in trainings and safety refresher courses, and we employ safety managers to monitor on-site safety regulations' enforcement. No job is so important and no service is so urgent that we cannot take time to perform our work safely to prevent occurrences of accidents and injuries. We are therefore committed to providing a safe working environment for all of our employees; we train and expect each employ to understand and promote safety for themselves and their fellow workers, to refuse to perform unsafe tasks, to report all hazards to their supervisors, to use appropriate protective equipment and to follow established safety procedures at all times

Our managers are committed to a strict quality control policy. We are dedicated to fulfilling all conditions and schedules we signed on to as part of our agreements, and to completing our projects while upholding the highest standards and to the full satisfaction of our customers. We believe that the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten.
Quality of Equipment
We use the most advanced equipment and best available technologies. Our equipment is constantly tested and examined by third parties and is replaced at their sole discretion.
Quality of Employees
We employ a rigorous human resource hiring selection system, and we provide our employees with the best training to ensure they are highly qualified to carry out their assignments. On the other hand, we expect our employees to strive for excellence when performing their duties. Employees who do not meet our standards are let go, while those who excel at their job are promoted and stay with us for many years, preserving a tradition of excellence.

Shtang has completed many highly complex and complicated projects, involving not only primary, secondary and tertiary treatment of wastewater, but also highly multifaceted and intricate undertakings such as an anaerobic sludge treatment plant combined with energy co-generation. Our project management skills were honed on assignments involving design, installation and construction of civil works such as concrete, metal and steel; of electro-mechanical works, such as piping, pumps, heat exchangers, co-generators, hydrogen sulfide removal systems; electrical instrumentation and control works, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, odor control systems and more.
Some works require, apart from expertise and experience, the delicate and minute handiwork of our teams, specializing in the restoration of historical compounds intended for preservation.
Shtang's approach to the selection of processes for wastewater treatment is based on a careful study of the required effluent quality standards, land availability, cost recovery potential, and the capability of local organizations and institutions to operate and maintain the plants.
Unlike many other companies, Shtang is not tethered to a single type of treatment. Our experience encompasses most types of technology used in wastewater treatment, from the ubiquitous Conventional Activated Sludge, to the state-of-the-art up-to-the-minute, Multi Stage Biological Systems, which reduce excess sludge by 90%, via Sequenced Batch Reactors, Membrane Bio Reactors and more.
Whether planting geophytes in constructed wetlands; installing an ATAD system for sludge treatment - a method based on auto-thermophilic, aerobic digestion, which uses bacteria to digest the sludge automatically with zero chemicals and zero energy for heating – or constructing tertiary treatment solutions using pressure filters and gravity sand filters to provide effluent suitable for unlimited irrigation, Shtang is always at the forefront of our fields' technological advances.
Constructing both aerobic and anaerobic sludge treatment systems, some of which produce energy (both heat and electricity), we see no limit to the technological prowess of our engineers and project managers.
